Frequently Asked Questions

  • My self-pay or out-of-network fee is $187 per session, but it will cost you more than that. It will also take time, deep thinking, deep feeling, and hard work.

  • Initial appointments and follow up appointments are 50 to 60 minutes. Free consultation appointments are 15 minutes.

  • For Texas residents, I am able to bill for most Aetna insurance plans. If you are out of network, I can provide a "superbill" that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement for out-of-network benefits. To find out if your specific plan provides some coverage with out-of-network care, or has reciprocity agreements with other care networks, you should call the phone number on the back of your insurance card and ask your carrier directly. Ask the plan administrator if they will cover CPT code 90791 or 90837. They will typically reimburse 50-80% of my fee, which is $187 per hour.

  • I am typically able to take 2-4 new clients every quarter (every three months). If my waitlist is closed, it means that I don’t expect to have an opening for you in the next three months. You can sign up for my newsletter to be notified when I am taking new clients.

  • I have a North Dallas location open Tuesdays and Wednesdays for in person visits. If you are located outside of Dallas, we can meet virtually through my HIPAA-compliant video platform. Research has shown that telehealth appointments are just as effective as in person appointments. During an initial consultation, we will discuss whether telehealth appointments are appropriate and how they can help you.

  • If you are logging in from a computer, you do not need to download anything. Please login to the client portal from any web browser on a video-enabled device (e.g., smartphone, tablet, or computer) here. Under appointments, you will be able to select your upcoming appointment and join up to 10 minutes before the scheduled time. Make sure that your video and mic are enabled in your web browser security preferences. Type your name and click “join” to enter the waiting room when you are ready for your appointment. If you are logging in from a phone or tablet, please download the Telehealth by Simple Practice app. You will be able to join the appointment by selecting the link in the appointment reminder email.

  • I understand that things come up and life happens between our sessions. I require 24 hours notice before the scheduled time of your appointment to cancel or reschedule. You will receive an automatic appointment reminder 48 hours before the appointmenc and can request changes to the appointment through my client portal here. If we can reschedule the appointment for a different time on the same day, I will waive the $100 late cancellation/no-show fee.
