Now Enrolling:
Let’s Talk: A Young Adults Group for Social Confidence
Learn tools to calm your nerves, speak up, and connect confidently.
Maybe you…
Rehearse what you’re going to say over and over, then stay quiet anyway
Worry that people are judging you or think you’re awkward
Avoid speaking out of fear of saying the “wrong” thing
Feel exhausted after socializing, even with people you like
Overanalyze interactions long after they’re over
Struggle to make friends because you don’t know how to go from small talk to real connection
You’re not alone. Social anxiety can make even everyday interactions feel exhausting. But connection doesn’t have to stay out of reach. With the right tools and support, you can face social anxiety head-on—and grow your confidence through real-world practice.
What This Group Offers:
This 3-week in-person intensive group is designed for young adults (18-25 years) who experience social anxiety and want practical tools to feel more confident in everyday interactions—whether it’s talking to classmates or coworkers, speaking up in groups, or building new friendships. Think of it like a minimester for social success.
We meet twice a week so you can build momentum, get regular feedback, and make faster progress than traditional once-weekly groups. It’s structured, active, and skills-based—ideal for people who are ready to do the work and see real change.
This isn’t group therapy where you sit and vent. It’s an active, skills-based group grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), the gold-standard treatment for social anxiety. CBT is backed by decades of research and shown to be highly effective in helping people reduce anxiety, build confidence, and improve real-life interactions.
You’ll get support and guidance from two experienced psychologists and a small community of peers who get it. Together, we’ll practice real skills—not just talk about them.
What You’ll Learn:
Why social anxiety shows up (and what keeps it going)
How to calm your nervous system in the moment
Tools to shift self-critical thoughts and anxious assumptions
How to start conversations and move beyond small talk
How to be more assertive and ask for what you need
What to do when interactions feel awkward or unclear
Each session blends evidence-based strategies (CBT and IFS-informed) with real practice in a nonjudgmental setting. You'll leave with tools you can actually use in your day-to-day life.

Meet the Group Leaders
This group is co-led by two clinical psychologists, with a combined 16 years of experience, who understand that social anxiety doesn’t always look like anxiety from the outside.
We created this group because we’ve seen the same story unfold again and again in individual therapy: smart, driven young adults who manage to push through social situations when they have to—class presentations, work meetings, group hangouts—but at a cost. Their hearts race, their minds spiral, and afterwards, they feel exhausted, shaky, or unsure of what just happened. Despite seeming “fine,” they tell us how hard it feels to truly connect. How they’re “faking it,” even when they long to feel like themselves.
That’s why we designed a space that goes beyond traditional therapy—one that offers structured, supportive opportunities to actually practice social skills in real time, with others who get it. We believe confidence grows through small risks, consistent support, and the safety to show up as your full self.

FAQs
-
We strongly recommend attending all 6 sessions to get the full benefit. This group is designed to be efficient and effective, and missing a session may mean missing key skills or practice time. If you anticipate missing more than one session, it would be best to wait for a future round of the group. For single absences, we may be able to schedule an individual make up session.
-
You’ll never be forced to speak or share more than you’re comfortable with. We use gradual, supportive exercises so you can build confidence step by step. That said, this is an active group—not a lecture—so we encourage participation to help you get the most out of it.
-
Nope. This group is skills-focused—not process or trauma-based. You’re welcome to share insights and experiences as you feel comfortable, but our main goal is to help you practice tools you can use right away in your daily life.
-
We keep the group small—usually 8 to 10 participants—to ensure a safe, supportive environment where everyone has space to participate.
-
The group meets twice a week for 3 weeks (6 sessions total), and each session is 75 minutes. You’ll also be encouraged to complete brief “social experiments” between sessions—like trying a conversation starter or speaking up in a small group—to help you apply what you’re learning in real life.
-
The group is based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) principles and strategies. We also include a session with Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed techniques, an approach that helps you connect to self-compassion. CBT is the most researched and effective treatment for social anxiety and focuses on building practical skills to reduce anxiety and improve functioning.
-
Many of our group members have worked with therapists or learned about cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in the past. But understanding the concepts is different from putting them into action—especially in real-life social situations. This group gives you the chance to practice what you’ve learned in a supportive setting, alongside peers who get it. You’ll build confidence not just by thinking differently, but by doing things differently—with guidance, feedback, and structure from two experienced psychologists.

We accept HSA, FSA, or credit/debit card for payment. We are considered an out-of-network treatment provider. If you would like to use your insurance benefits, please call your health insurance plan and ask how much they reimburse for out-of-network mental health treatment for social anxiety. You will need to pay upfront, but they may be able to reimburse you 30-70% after your deductible is met.
-
If we have availability, we’re happy to work with you individually—either alongside the group or as a standalone option. Your information will remain confidential, and joining the group is never required.
Some participants find it helpful to receive individual support before, during, or after the group to deepen their progress. We also have trusted referral partners if you'd prefer or need to work with someone outside our team.
