A Practice Built for Whole-Person Healing
Founded in 2020, Tella Psychology was created to provide a practice where clients’ full range of needs—mental, emotional, and physical—are seen and supported. Dr. Jessica Klement launched Tella Psychology after years of experience in an academic medical center, where she valued the integrative care model. In her work, she saw firsthand how challenges like chronic pain, sleep issues, and medical conditions often influence mental health, but are rarely addressed together in community-based therapy.
At the same time, limitations imposed by managed care in medical settings often leads to brief sessions and restricted availability, making it difficult for clients to receive the depth of support they may need. Tella Psychology was founded to bridge both gaps: offering whole-person support that is comprehensive and client-centered, with the flexibility to provide personalized care that isn’t constrained by insurance requirements or time limitations of traditional medical settings.
As the practice grew, Dr. Klement’s passion for trauma-informed care deepened. This came from real-life experiences with clients who described feeling dismissed, misunderstood, or even re-traumatized in previous therapy or medical settings. To be a safe place, Tella Psychology had to be more than “trauma-aware.” It had to be a place where you feel in control, where trust builds at your pace, and where you never have to hide parts of yourself to be accepted. We don’t assume. And we don’t treat your symptoms in isolation from your story. This all supports our goal of helping you develop insight, build healthier relationships, and reconnect with yourself: mind, body, and spirit.
Our Mission & Values
At Tella Psychology, our mission is to provide science-backed, whole-person mental health care. We believe in therapy that is effective, empowering, and accessible, helping you create meaningful change in a way that feels right for you.
Our Core Values
✅ Client-Centered — Your needs, preferences, and values come first. We believe therapy works best when it’s a collaboration, so we’ll set goals together and make decisions as partners. That might look like choosing the pace of therapy, deciding whether to meet in person or virtually, or simply honoring how you prefer to communicate.
✅ Trauma-Informed Care — We recognize how past experiences shape the present. Safety, trust, and empowerment are the foundation of every interaction.
✅ Integrative, Whole-Person Care — Your mental and physical health are connected. We draw on the six pillars of lifestyle medicine—sleep, nutrition, movement, stress management, social connection, and substance use—to support your overall well-being.
✅ Evidence-Based & Measurement-Based — Therapy should be both meaningful and effective. We use proven approaches like EMDR, IFS, and CBT, and we track your progress so you know therapy is working.
✅ Inclusivity & Cultural Humility — Everyone deserves affirming, respectful care. We are committed to serving people of all cultures, races, religions, sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions.
✅ Advocacy, Access & Education — We are committed to expanding access to high-quality care by dedicating time to a limited number of sliding-scale clients, training and mentoring future therapists, and contributing to the evidence base in private practice through research and speaking engagements.
“Whether your history includes trauma, chronic invalidation, systemic oppression and racism, or just moments where something felt off, your experience matters here.”
-Dr. Klement
