Social Anxiety Treatment in Dallas

& Online in 42 States

What if you could speak up and make geniuine connections with confidence?

Social anxiety is more than shyness. It's the meeting where you rehearse your response for five minutes before saying it. The invitation you say yes to and then quietly dread for a week. The conversation you replay that night, certain you sounded strange, even though no one else remembers it.

Social anxiety works by making connection feel like performance. Over time, the effort of managing how you come across can become more exhausting than the interaction itself — even when things go fine on the outside.

Most people with social anxiety know their fear of judgment is disproportionate to the actual risk. That awareness doesn't make the fear go away. What changes it is treatment — structured, evidence-based, and practiced in real situations.

Living with social anxiety doesn't have to be your normal. Whether you’ve been living with it for 6 months to 16 years, we can help. At Tella Psychology, we specialize in evidence-based social anxiety treatment for teens and adults, in Dallas and online across 42 states, including individual therapy and a structured group program. Most people see meaningful improvement in six sessions and complete treatment in 12 to 20.

Common Social Anxiety Experiences We Treat

Social anxiety is not simply shyness or a personality trait to push through. It's a conditioned fear response to social evaluation that can limit daily routines, relationships, career growth, and overall quality of life. Even when someone knows their fear is out of proportion, their body may still react as if the social threat is real and immediate.

That is why effective social anxiety treatment focuses on more than reassurance or "just being more confident." The goal is to understand what is maintaining the fear, reduce avoidance and safety behaviors, and build real, practiced experience tolerating social discomfort.

At Tella Psychology, we work with social anxiety across a range of presentations. Treatment is tailored to your specific situation, whether that's individual therapy, our structured a Social Anxiety Group, or both together.

During your consultation, we will talk through what social anxiety looks like for you, how it's affecting your life, and which treatment approach — individual, group, or combined — may be the best fit.

How Social Anxiety Treatment Works

Social anxiety treatment at Tella Psychology is not about being pushed into situations before you're ready. It is collaborative, paced, and tailored to your specific triggers, history, and goals. We draw on evidence-based approaches, depending on your needs and preferences.

What to Expect

Initial Evaluation

In your first appointment, we will talk through your specific social anxiety — what triggers it, how long it has been present, what you've tried, and how it's affecting your daily life, relationships, and work. This session gives us a clear picture of what's maintaining the anxiety and whether individual therapy, our group program, or both would be the best starting point.

Treatment Course

Most people see meaningful improvement within 8–16 sessions of individual therapy, depending on complexity, or within our structured 6-session group program. Sessions are typically 60 minutes, scheduled weekly.

We use measurement-based care throughout treatment, meaning we track your progress with standardized measures at regular intervals rather than relying on impression alone. This lets us see clearly whether treatment is working, adjust the approach if something isn't landing, and show you concrete evidence of change over time — not just a general sense that things feel better.
